DCLO Welcomes Roderick Mackenzie-Smith as Registered Foreign Lawyer

David Cameron Law Office (DCLO) is delighted to welcome Roderick Mackenzie-Smith as a registered foreign lawyer. The appointment reinforces the firm's dedication to providing first-rate legal advice to clients in Hong Kong and throughout the world.
Roddy is a seasoned international lawyer whose practice spans corporate, commercial, corporate finance and regulatory work. He is qualified as a solicitor in both England & Wales and Hong Kong, and as an attorney in New York State. His academic credentials include an LLM in tax law (with Merit) from King's College London and an MA from the University of Edinburgh.
He has acted for leading listed companies and funds on M&A, IPO and private equity transactions. He has also advised on setting up offshore funds, structuring multinational groups and inbound investment.
Before joining DCLO, Roddy spent more than four years as a partner at a well-known Hong Kong firm. Earlier in his career he was a senior lawyer at major international firms, including Linklaters and Clifford Chance, in London and New York.
"Roddy's experience across corporate, finance and regulatory work, together with his qualifications in England & Wales, Hong Kong and New York, makes him an outstanding addition to our team. His arrival lets us offer clients even more comprehensive cross-border advice as they do business in Hong Kong and across the region," said David Cameron, Managing Partner of David Cameron Law Office.
"DCLO's partner-led approach and its momentum in Hong Kong made joining an easy decision. I look forward to working with the team to help clients through their most complex transactions and regulatory challenges across Asia," said Roddy.
DCLO continues to build its capabilities to meet the changing needs of clients in Hong Kong and internationally. Roddy is the firm's third hire in six months, following John Lee in March 2026 and Peter Ch'ng in May 2026, and the firm has doubled in size since the start of 2026. The expansion also reflects DCLO's confidence in, and commitment to, the Hong Kong market and to supporting businesses operating in the region.
